The gradual decline in the number of Corona cases makes travel increasingly attractive.
Furthermore, restrictions related to the Corona virus are made in Mexico based on an epidemiological risk traffic light, which is adjusted according to the level of infection. At the time of publication of this article, all states are rated green.
The traffic light consists of four levels:
- Red: Severe restrictions on public life, possibly curfew, closure of public places, consideration of hygiene measures.
- Orange: Easing of restrictions, no curfew, limited availability of various services, very limited access to public places, consideration of hygiene measures in place.
- Yellow: Limited visitor capacity to public places (open and closed), consideration of existing hygiene measures.
- Green: All activities are allowed again, taking into account existing hygiene measures.

- Group restrictions may apply at archaeological sites and other activities.
- For beaches, the following maximum capacities apply, provided the minimum distance is maintained:
- red level – no use allowed
- orange level – 50%
- yellow level – 75%
- green level – 100%.
Currently, there are still many covid cases in Mexico, but with a steady decrease in incidences; therefore, the following situation is still expected in the coming weeks:
- Wearing face masks is mandatory on a regular basis (outdoors and indoors).
- People should keep a distance of 1.5 to 2 metres away from the area
- The use of antibacterial gel before entering certain places is mandatory
- Time restrictions at tourist attractions and limitations on the number of visitors are occasionally possible
